Traveller’s Guide to Pardubice, A to Z

Studying

The University of Pardubice was founded in 1994 in today’s form of a university with all types of faculties and wide choice of scientific branches. Before that, it was an unversity focused mainly on Chemistry and Technology, in 1950’s and 1960’s it was a major center of research in this field of knowledge. It offers many scholarships for its students to study abroad, mostly in EU, but also in the US, Canada, Russia, Korea, Japan, Israel, New Zealand, etc, in other words in all the countries that have universities and where people speak at least a bit of English or other internationally used language. But it also accepts students from other countries in return, so if you are a student, you might be able to apply to live and study in Pardubice for some time. Is is certainly worth giving a shot, especially if you are a student in the field of Chemistry. The living expenses are still about a half of EU average plus there is no tuition in the Czech public universities. The lectures for international students are in English, with optional course of Czech language. The university also offers very cheap living in the campus, but the students usually have one room for themselves or even share it with someone.
