Museums and Galleries

East Bohemian Museum

Located in the restored Chateau areal, it offers exposition of weaponry, Bohemian cut glass with 5000 exhibits, large collection of postcards rom the end of 19th century to the present time, historical toys, medieval coins, etc. Furthermore, there are other temporary exhibitions all the time, such as wine festival in August, exposition of dahlia flowers in September or ginger bread feast on the May 8, the Victory day of WW 2. Opening hours TU – SU 10 AM – 6 PM. The guide in the museum is provided in Czech, English and German. Official website

Transit Museum

It show over 600 showpieces from the history of the Czech railway system and from the Pardubice’s public transport, such as historical train carriages from the early 20th century, train models, steam locomotive,.. There is no entrance charge. The museum is located in the building of the out-of-town train station in Rosice nad Labem.

Municipal Gallery

Located in the city hall building, open in weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM, shows works of local artists, contemporary and historical.

East Bohemian Gallery

Located in the Chateau building, it has guide tours in Czech, English, French and German, open daily except Monday from 10 AM to 6 PM. It has large collection of 19th century paintings, focused on local landscape paintings, works of civilism and social art, then works of then art group called „Group 42“. Most of the paintings are of the Czech artists, in total about 15,000 paitings and photographs, most famous of them are Emil Filla, Jan Zrzavy, Julius Marak, Antonin Slavicek, and many others. Tickets cost 40 CZK (1.5 €) a person. In its other building - the architectonical pearl Dum U Jonase, you can observe the temporary exhibitions, such as travelling photographs or paintings borrowed from other museums. Official website
