Fastfoods & Takeaways
If you are looking for some multinational fastfoods like McDonald’s or KFC, you may have trouble finding them, because there is only one McDonald’s in Trida Miru Street. But otherwise there are many local fast foods, where you can get pretty much the same kind of food for slightly lower prices. There can be bought hot-dogs (about 12 CZK or 0.5 €), pizza (depends on the size, usually 2 – 3 €), bottles or cans of flavored soda or some fizzy drinks (Coke 0.5 - 1 €). The local speciality is the “langos” – it is in fact of Hungarian origin, but is as popular as Schnitzel in Germany or hamburger in the US. It is a flat dough-pie, looking kind of like small pizza, with grated cheese and ketchup on the top. In the Czech Republic, the Asian takeaways are quite popular in these days and are sure to be found in the city center area. They usually offer hamburgers, French fries and other food based on fried chicken for lowest prices in the food market.
